thoughts on being a yeti
So, for halloween 2013 I wore an arctic ghillie suit and went as a yeti. The various identifications I received from passers-by while wearing a white [1] full-body dust mop were as follows:

* Mostly yeti.
* A few Bigfoot or Sasquatch.
* One albino sasquatch.
* A few Abominable Snowman.
* Several more than a few Abdominal Snowman, which makes me weep for our educational system especially given that most of those were adults.
* One alpaca. Yes, alpaca.

[1] Yes, I wore white. I didn't think anyone would get the point if I was an all-black yeti.

I've heard Abdominal Snowman as a joke before. They were serious?

I'd say at least half of them were serious given their tone, affect, and behavior. Can't say for certain about all of them, but yes, in general I believe they were.

Awww, no Mi-Go/Mi-Gou.

I wasn't up to giant lobster costume this year. Maybe next. If I'd had time I was going to do Bumble, but I didn't have time to do the face properly. Instead of Mi-Go, if I'd had more time I was going to look into doing a Gnoph-keh, which might have ended up looking like a Mugato.
