angle grinders make poor structural members
Thursday with a heavily-loaded car I heard a loud metallic grinding noise every time I touched the accelerator, that vanished the moment I stopped with the accelerator. No noise problems with less than a heavy load in the car, no matter how actively I tried to trigger it. Friday my mechanic said "new rear shocks". Monday he replaced them. Apparently the original factory ones are inadequate for the car as is when they were new, so he put better-rated ones in. Much steadier ride now. He showed me the original now-dead gas shocks which looked only a little beefier than the cylinders I see on porch or screen doors. Much improved.
