Closet Land: a barely-released 1991 independent film starring Madeline Stowe as a children's book author accused of writing anti-government propaganda, and Alan Rickman as her interrogator. Probably the only other two points I should mention are a) Amnesty International served as consultants and b) it's triggery for a whole lot of reasons. Excellent performances, but not the kind of film it's easy to recommend. Almost impossible to find. Feels like a stage play, but Reservoir Dogs also feels like a stage play to me.
