If we're talking about the album, playing Secret Chiefs 3 on the stereo while the TV runs wacky animal videos is really kind of disturbing. You start to feel like every kitten being rescued is a German art film about futility.

The quote is actually referring to these secret chiefs. I just liked explaining astral plane-esque superconscious disembodied entities as hypercomplex-enough-to-be-intelligent Conway Game of Life self-replicating patterns, and as memetic entities floating around in the ecosphere of written and spoken language.

Oddly enough I have no music by the Secret Chiefs 3. I should fix that. Your description of If we're talking about the album, playing Secret Chiefs 3 on the stereo while the TV runs wacky animal videos is really kind of disturbing. You start to feel like every kitten being rescued is a German art film about futility. reminds me of how I felt seeing Liquid Sky opening weekend in the theatre.
