tonight at the Colony
as part of their Cool Classics series
. I'm not a huge fan of Wes Anderson's films in general, but I wasn't avoiding Rushmore although I've never seen the movie before tonight.
Nice dialogue, thought it was interesting how much Anderson seemed to structure the bulk of the film as a two-act play mirroring Max's plays and direction, and Bill Murray's performance reminded me of his later performance in Jarmusch's Broken Flowers
. Much of the film is that brand of social discomfort I personally find cringe-inducing so it's hard to say I enjoyed the film as much as I appreciated the film.
