02:53 am [Link]	[film] Public Enemies Went to see Public Enemies at a midnight showing at Mission Valley. Short: if you liked director Michael Mann's film _Heat_, or the in my opinion underrated noir _The Way of the Gun_, you will like this. If you want nonstopnonsense action go see _Transformers 2_. ( Let's be bad guys ) However, to the guy behind me: if you're going to see a midnight film a) STAY AWAKE and b) DON'T SNORE. At least he wasn't two rows in front and TEXTING FROM A BRIGHT WHITE SCREEN phone the way the fellow did when we saw _UP_ opening weekend at the same theatre. 02:16 am [Link]	[film] X-FIles: I Want To Believe Ended up with pass to see a midnight showing of The X-Files: I Want to Believe at Mission Valley. Ehhh. Not the worst summer popcorn film so far (of those I would go to, that is), but not far off in my opinion. Its sins are of mediocrity rather than disastrousness, and are mostly confined to the sideplots of the film. 12:57 am [Link]	[film] Hellboy 2: The Golden Army maegwynn was feeling better so we met up with C&C and went to Mission Valley to see Hellboy 2: The Golden Army as my fifth film in five consecutive evenings. Short: Thought the first Hellboy was better, but this has some really nicely-done visuals. Very _Pan's Labyrinth_ visually. Strongly recommended for gearpunk. Nice to see another comics adaptation that does not suck (we will not speak of _Ghost Rider_).
