Thoughts on The Hobbit
Saw the Hobbit a week ago, finally, and in general liked it.
The Baggins home is all tunnels. It reminds me of the spaceship Discovery finished in woodgrain. Crossover
2001: An Unexpected Journey, with Smeagol as the Starchild. Alternately hobbits as Vietnam War tunnel rats.
Radagast looks like he's from another film. Maybe a 60s/70s Disney kids film like Bedknobs & Broomsticks. Saruman's dismissal of the mention of Radagast triggered Monty Python & The Holy Grail's "Oh, we don't want to go there" dismissal of Camelot.
Thorin Oakenshield is really good with that branch tonfa. I wonder where he learned tae kwon do?
The Orcs are basically Klingons. I don't see Christopher Lloyd in there, but the makeup is great work.
