The Guardians of Night and Archer Disses Rush
Went to Quail Ridge Books last night to hear Tony Daniel read from his new military SF novel _The Guardians of Night_. Nice to see folks out.
Then I watched the animated spy spoof show Archer make fun of the band Rush. (And tying the two disparate topics of this post together, Kevin J. Anderson is writing the novelization of Rush's new album.)
(unrelated to Rush, I like how the two kick drums read "THUNDER" and "DOME"..)
Krieger: Archer, I've finally cracked it.
(shows drums)
Archer: Wow, amazing: you can play YYZ.
Krieger: First of all, it's Y Y Zed! And second of all..no, I can't get it. It's impossible!
and
Krieger: …my greatest accomplishment!
Pam: What, you finally nailed YYZ!
Krieger: It's Zed! And, no - Neil Peart stands alone.
